At this year’s National Two Sessions, “Industrial Internet” became a “hot word” and was written into the “Government Work Report”. The report proposes to focus on promoting the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, strengthening the industrial foundation and technological innovation capabilities, promoting the integrated development of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries, and accelerating the construction of a manufacturing powerhouse. Build an industrial Internet platform, expand “intelligence +”, and empower the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.
Just after the two sessions, the Beijing Industrial Internet Technology Innovation and Industrial Development Alliance was announced on March 17. Not long ago, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially established the China Industrial Internet Research Institute. A series of actions fully show that my country’s industrial Internet construction is accelerating.
It can be said that the development of the Industrial Internet has reached a very important historical opportunity period. my country has regarded the development of the Industrial Internet as an important starting point for the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, especially the high-quality economic and social development.
An important driver of high-quality development
In recent years, the development achievements of my country’s manufacturing industry are obvious to all. However, there is still a big gap between my country’s manufacturing industry and developed countries. The overall informatization level of the manufacturing industry is not high, resulting in informatization and industrialization processes that do not match, adapt, and are unbalanced. The problem of inferiority still exists.
At present, it has become a global consensus to promote the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry by means of the Industrial Internet. Germany has a deep industrial accumulation and took the lead in proposing the concept of Industry 4.0, with the purpose of improving the information intelligence level of the manufacturing industry through the Internet. The United States has the leading manufacturing enterprises with the highest level of informatization in the world, and has a leading edge in the development of equipment digitization rate and networking rate. my country, the United States and Germany are developing the industrial Internet almost simultaneously, and it has its own unique advantages, but it also faces some challenges.
Zhang Jun, president of Beijing Institute of Technology and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, believes that my country’s advantages in developing industrial Internet are mainly reflected in three aspects. First, my country is an Internet power. Among the world’s top ten Internet companies, Chinese companies occupy an important position and have strong strength. If the industrial Internet can take advantage of this advantage in the development, especially in the consumer field, it will seize the opportunity.
Second, at present, no country in the world has implemented artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, and network security as major scientific and technological projects, which will become the best opportunity for my country to change lanes and overtake.
Third, my country has a very strong manufacturing group and has mastered certain core technologies in building the Industrial Internet. If there are good policies to guide, strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights, and form a good industrial development ecology, the industrial Internet will definitely promote the high-quality development of my country’s manufacturing industry.
Zhang Jun believes that the industrial Internet is first of all networking, but more importantly, it gives industrial equipment the ability to perceive. In the next step, if the industrial Internet is combined with intelligent manufacturing, it will bring about a great change in the development of my country’s industrial Internet. “For example, after the device is processed, the next link is automatically connected, and finally, the product that has been formed is provided with personalized services through calculation. This will make industrial production smarter.” Zhang Jun said.
