York HPS screw type high temperature heat pump unit includes four models: HPS30, HPS36, HPS42 and HPS60. It adopts the new generation of high-efficiency, high-pressure twin-screw compressors from Johnson Controls, with full-range VSD capacity control, which can meet the application of single heat, dual-use and cooling. There are three application scenarios of combined heat, which can recover the user’s industrial waste heat and the condensation heat of the refrigeration unit. It is highly efficient, energy-saving, environmentally friendly, and has a long life cycle. It can be used as an ideal substitute for traditional boilers.
The water temperature of conventional heat pump products is usually around 60°C, and hot water with higher temperature needs to be realized by boiler or electric heating. The HPS screw type high temperature heat pump unit uses the unique waste heat recovery technology to perform full heat recovery on the heat source, further increasing the temperature of the hot water outlet, and the produced hot water can reach 90 °C.
The unit also efficiently utilizes the characteristics of exhaust sensible heat and high lubricating oil temperature, which can not only increase the outlet water temperature, but also increase the heating capacity and reduce the shaft power of the unit, thereby increasing the COP of the unit, up to 6.8.
At present, the application of heat pump with natural working medium ammonia as refrigerant has become one of the focuses of the development of heat pump industry. Johnson Controls continues to innovate on low-charging ammonia technology. The charging capacity of HPS screw-type high-temperature heat pump units can be as low as 90 kg, which is only one tenth of that of traditional ammonia heat pump units.
The HPS screw type high temperature heat pump unit is also equipped with a new generation of Quantum HD control system that can expand the heat pump system, which can intelligently monitor the operation of the equipment in real time and adjust the operating parameters to ensure that the unit is always running efficiently and stably. The special variable volume design of its compressor can reduce the capacity to start, reduce the starting load and starting torque of the motor, and can also realize overload protection, which can more effectively avoid the failure and shutdown caused by high power and high current. The high-efficiency, high-speed permanent magnet motor is also used for the first time on this unit, with a speed of up to 6000RPM, an energy efficiency of up to IE5, low noise, stable operation, and obvious energy-saving advantages, which are widely praised.
In terms of energy saving and environmental protection effects, taking the coefficient of performance of the waste heat recovery system of 5.0 as an example, the HPS screw-type high temperature heat pump unit consumes 1 part of electricity and can generate 5 parts of heat. Assuming that the inlet/outlet temperature of the cooling side is 45/40°C, the inlet/outlet temperature of the hot water side is 70/80°C, the annual operating time is 6000 hours, and the heat load is 1400KW, the unit can save about 500 tons of standard coal per year , reduce 1300 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
Facing sustainable development, all industries are looking for solutions to achieve energy efficient use. The heat pump has high electric-heat conversion efficiency and is a green and low-carbon thermal energy supply product. The “14th Five-Year Plan” New Urbanization Implementation Plan issued by the National Development and Reform Commission pointed out that it is necessary to “promote cogeneration, waste heat heating, heat pumps and other clean heating methods according to local conditions”.
