Robot giants compete for the beach in Chongqing

German KUKA plans to build China’s second production base in Chongqing

RobotGiants are competing for the beach in Chongqing
The huge development potential of Chongqing’s Robot market is attracting the world’s top Robot companies to compete for the beach. On June 21, the Chongqing Robotics and Intelligent Equipment Industry Federation exclusively revealed to this newspaper that KUKA, Germany, recently sent people to Chongqing for inspection, and hopes to settle down in Chongqing as soon as possible to build its second in China. Robot production base. This is another member of the “Four Families” of robots eager to build a production base in Chongqing after Japan’s Fanuc recently announced that it will build a production base in Liangjiang New Area.
According to Wei Dong, Secretary General of Chongqing Robot and Intelligent Equipment Industry Federation, the senior management of KUKA China who came to Chongqing for inspection clearly expressed the above wishes when communicating with him. KUKA hopes to reach an investment agreement with relevant parties in Chongqing as soon as possible through the matchmaking of the federation to produce robot bodies in Chongqing.
Before the Chongqing production base is put into operation, KUKA also plans to transport its robot products produced in Germany to Chongqing for sale through the Yuxinou International Railway Intermodal Transport Channel.
In addition to Kuka, another member of the “Four Families” of robots – YASKAWA, Japanmotora few days ago also came to Chongqing to connect with the Chongqing Robot and Intelligent Equipment Industry Federation, hoping to settle in Chongqing as soon as possible.
However, Wei Dong said that it was temporarily inconvenient to disclose what YASKAWA plans to do in Chongqing.
Japan’s FANUC, which is also a member of the “Four Families” of robots, is one step ahead of the layout in Chongqing. On June 17, it finalized the cooperation with Liangjiang New District – its subsidiary Shanghai FANUC Robot Co., Ltd. plans to invest 100 million yuan to build the FANUC Robotics Chongqing Technology Center project in the Water and Soil Park of Liangjiang New Area, and strive to build it into a production base for FANUC robots in the southwest region.
Up to now, among the “Four Families” of robots, only Swiss ABB has not revealed its plans to enter the Chongqing robot market.
It is understood that the “Four Families” of robots are the top robot companies in the world.industryThe key core technologies in the field of robotics have seized about 70% of the Chinese industrial robot market. Previously, the four giants have all set up production bases or factories in my country, but without exception they have chosen first-tier cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, as well as cities with strong robot research and development capabilities such as Shenyang. Among them, KUKA and ABB have built production bases in Shanghai, YASKAWA Electric has deployed robot production plants in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenyang, and Fanuc has established production bases in Beijing and Shanghai.
Now, why are robot giants rushing to the beach in Chongqing?
“As one of China’s important industrial bases, Chongqing’s production of automobiles, motorcycles and notebook computers ranks first in the country, and related enterprises have huge demand for industrial robots. Coupled with chemicals, medicine, food, ships and rail transit, etc. The demand for robots in many industries is also increasing, and the future development prospects of the Chongqing robot market are very promising.” Wei Dong revealed that the reason why KUKA is eager to set up a robot production base in Chongqing is mainly because it is optimistic about the current rapid development of the Chongqing robot market. Growth momentum, future development potential, and Chongqing’s location at the junction of the central and western regions can radiate the geographical advantages of central and western provinces such as Hubei, Guizhou, Sichuan and Shaanxi.
According to him, in 2015, Chongqing’s robot and intelligent equipment industry achieved a total output value of 10.2 billion yuan. Since the beginning of this year, this industry has continued to maintain the momentum of rapid growth, and it is expected that the annual output value is expected to increase by more than 30% compared with 2015. The goal of our city is that by 2020, the output value of the robot and intelligent manufacturing equipment industry will exceed 100 billion yuan, and it will become one of the largest and most competitive intelligent manufacturing equipment industry bases in the country.Reporter Huang Guanghong
